It is mostly advised not to give Kombucha to children before reaching age of four, some even say it should not be given to children up to the age of puberty. There is no scientific reason why not to give Kombucha to children, but the effects of some compounds haven’t been researched enough yet.

While major health benefits of Kombucha have been observed, it is a fact that it has been observed in adults and effects on children haven’t been explored enough. Another concern with Kombucha drink and children is caffeine, present in the Kombucha tea, which can not be made from herbal tea and requires Camilla sinensis plant.
