There are many different and even conflicting information to be found about the safety of drinking chamomile herbal tea during pregnancy. In time of pregnancy, it is better not to drink chamomile tea. But, while a cup or two of chamomile tea would probably not pose a threat to your baby, it is utmost important to avoid using the stronger medicinal versions of chamomile, such as the concentrated chamomile oil, because chamomile is considered to be an abortifacient, a substance that induces abortion.

Most health practitioners agree that in time of pregnancy using herbs should be avoided, mainly because they are mostly untested and there is no way to be sure about their safety. Chamomile is generally regarded as safe and is widely recognized as a beneficial and safe. It is a good idea to check with your health care practitioner before you drink chamomile or any other herbal tea while pregnant.
